Medical Clinical Assistant
The truth in today’s medical environment is that mistakes can and do occur on a frequent basis. Errors lead to the exact opposite of the desired outcome for caregivers and their patients. It is always challenging for caregivers to properly administer and record every step of
the care process without error and 100% of the time. Many of the critical errors made by caregivers revolve around their ability to properly verify prescription orders issued by the Doctor to the actual drugs being administered. The difference between 10mg and 10g is
significant. In addition to the proper dosage of the proper drug, the caregivers can mistakenly administer the wrong prescription order to the wrong patient. This can have devastating and irreversible repercussions.
Unitech and their Solution Partners have developed a Mobile Clinical Assistant (MCA) Solution for Nursing Information Systems. This MCA Solution is an extension of current Mobile Cart Solutions used by many caregivers. The added mobility provides caregivers better
opportunity and ease-of-use for seamless point of care to improvements in patient safety. The solution now allows caregivers to confirm prescription orders and patient identification through bar code and/or RFID tag technology. Before medicines are administered to a patient, the caregiver double confirms correct medication, dosage, and patent information by using the Unitech MCA device. Patient data is update wirelessly to a HIS database immediately. This not only reduces nursing staff work loading, but also, and most importantly, ensures 100% accuracy in information recording.
The PA600 MCA is small enough to fit into your shirt pocket, weighting just 310g. But don't let its size fool you - with a 624MHz processor and an IP64 rating the PA600 MCA is a powerful industrial device but also medical.
The PA600 MCA’s rounded shape is designed to fit perfectly into the hand of the user. A full QVGA screen touchscreen enables the operator to view more information about the RFID tags that have been read and an ergonomic alphanumeric keypad makes data entry
simple.
The rugged design of the PA600 MCA won’t let you down. Thanks to its IP64 rating, the PA600 MCA is resistant to dust and moisture. Its robust build is able to withstand multiple 4ft drops to concrete without risk of damage. This minimises device downtime, reduces repair costs and delivers a much lower Total Cost of Ownership.
